Geneva Red (click here to see her bio page) is one of the few female instrumentalists performing on the "blues harp" and leading her own band. Couple this with her outstanding harmonica ability, strong vocal talent, and high energy show, and you've got the chemistry that immediately establishes her as a rare and exciting performer. The influences of Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson I and II, Big Walter Horton, George "Harmonica" Smith, and Jimmy Reed are apparent in her own personal approach to her music.

...Tours nationally and internationally; has had CDs charted in "Top 25" blues radio playlists around the world; is featured in The Encyclopedia of the Harmonica by Mel Bay Books and also in IL Soffio dell'anima: armoniche e armoniciesti blues (The Breath of the Spirit: Harmonicas and Blues Harmonicists) book by Fabrizio Poggi, published in Italy;

...Is an official contracted endorsee for the Hohner Harmonica Company since 1998. Her likeness is seen in Hohner's printed advertising world wide and is a featured "Artist" on Hohner's website.

...The Roadsters are a sharp and tight knit unit and are adept at providing just the type of musical backing that is sympathetic to, and propels an artist like Geneva Red to go deeper into the mood, feeling, and pulse of the song.  This communication and energy helps to make each performance of Geneva Red & The Roadsters something special.  When it's time for another member of the band to step into the spotlight, the band shifts gears smoothly so the performer can pump it up or bring it down, whatever feels good to deliver his own soulful statement.

...Red's band features guitarist, Jackie 5 & Dime (click here to see his Bio page) who has been called a "Musical Renaissance man" with a broad background in Jazz and Blues as well as composing and arranging.   He brings his own stinging guitar style to Geneva Red & The Roadsters and has written tunes just for  the band focusing on the style that infuses this band with taste and energy.

Bassist Snapper Mitchum (click here to see his Bio page) made a name for himself performing with Chicago's top blues artists from the early 70s till today, including Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor, Junior Wells, Lonnie Brooks and Son Seals to name just a few. He was a member of the Son Seals band when they rose to the top of the contemporary blues scene in the 80s with Seals' landmark recording, Chicago Fire.

Drummer David "Tu Sweet" Anderson (click here to see his Bio page) grew up in Chicago and learned from some of the best including Fred Below. He along with bassist Snapper Mitchum toured and recorded together for many years as Son Seals acclaimed rhythm section during the 70s and 80s.

Floyd Murphy (click here to see his Bio page) is the elder statesman of the band and although he suffered a debilitating stroke he never quit. Out of respect for his determination to come back, we maintain his slot for him. Murphy has been performing with Geneva Red and The Roadsters since late in 1998. Floyd brings his own original Memphis based style to this band's sound. Murphy's history is well documented and his work with Junior Parker and the Blue Flames in the 50s yielded some of Sun Records' most classic early recordings,  influencing not only Elvis Presley, but Jimi Hendrix.

Since their debut CD "Alley Ways" in 1997 and now with three full length CDs under their belt, including their new  CD "Gettin' Cocky" on Bottle Cap Records, Geneva Red and her band continue to excite audiences wherever they perform.
